Mail going out: Ukraine, Spain, US and Russia

The top two photos are ones that I have taken myself. The first is a beach jut outside of Port Angeles, Washington, it was captured with my wonderful Nikon when I lived there years ago. The other one, which is more recent, is from the Great Salt Lake and was taken a few weeks ago, with an old Kodak Retina camera that Ryan bought for me. I am very happy with the quality of the shots, and I look forward to posting more of them!

Friends from afar

Meet Itto, my friend from Japan that is currently 15 months into a 22 month world tour. He is staying at my house and probably riding up the Milly Express lift at Brighton Resort, as I sit typing this up!

You probably recognise him from the yurting photos!

Yesterday I took the whole day off and after having a nice long sleep in (we all stayed up too late) we went out for pancakes, had a lovely time catching up and then spent the majority of the afternoon computing and snailmailing at the Salt Lake Roasting Company, downtown.

It's good to catch up with old friends, especially ones with great stories! ..and with all of the old friend contact this year, I do believe that this is just a year for catching up, how fun.

One last random fact: it's been over 10 years since we last hung out.

Mail Going out: Belarus, London and US

These were sent out a few days ago, but I thought you might like a peek at them!

Full Moon Yurt Trip

Here are some photos from out yurt trip this weekend!

We skied in to the Lily Lake yurt and stayed one night, coyotes were howling outside and after a quick bit of blizzard, the full moon came up and brightened the area.

I'm sunburned and tired, but really happy that we were all able to make it.

Off to the Yurt...

This weekend we will be skiing up to 1 of 4 yurts located within the Lily Lake Nordic Ski area! I am very excited and although I cannot seem to get used to daylight savings time, I am still going to happily pull myself out of bed in the morning and make the drive to Wyoming, to meet up with my folks!

More when I return!

Up-Do!

My hair is getting longer and it takes more time to wash, dry and put up! I have been experimenting with putting it up in different ways on the days I don't wash it; here are two of my favorites:

Lots of smaller buns ..and I also made the fun hair clip!

This one started out with an upside down french braid and ended in a bun.

Outgoing: Finland, US and Lithuania (last week)

Viet Cat

I was scanning some images onto my computer to turn into cards last night and I looked over at some new stamps I had just bought. I decided to throw them into the scanning line-up and they became my most favorite scanned images of the night! I cannot wait to apply them in smaller sizes to cards and to mail them off larger as postcards!

Here they are in all their wonderful-ness!

I have to clap a little every time I look at them!

Sunday Morning!

This is what I woke up to, Sunday morning.

Nordic Weekend

After thinking that the weather was getting nicer, we ended up skiing through deep, new, sticky snow this weekend. Wyoming was wonderful, the ski was great ..although a lot of work and the dogs had a wonderful time, even if Dingo was super tired. Here are some photos from the fun:

Outgoing: China

I joined a new mail site a few days ago, postcrossing.com, and it assigns you an address to send a postcard to! It's a pretty cool site with over 200,000 participants from all over the world. The first address given to me was in China, and this is the postcard I sent:

Received: Wyoming

I have posted a lot about what I have been sending out and making to send out, but I haven't yet posted about mail coming in!! Last night I found this awesome letter sitting in my post office box, from a pen-pal in Wyoming, when I got there from work. I was so excited and inspired by the art on the envelope that I haven't been able to open it! ..and there by my lion at home, it still sits.

I love, love, love, love, LOVE the postage stamps best of all ..and cannot wait to return the favor!
