Erin and Mike go Skydiving!

Dear J Train,

I don't really miss you,
..not really at all.

Sometimes when I think about being able to read my book while I commute, you jump into my mind; fondly.

Sometimes I think how you come out of the ground on the edge of Manhattan and how the light is always so welcoming
...how you creep across the Williamsburg bridge giving everyone that can see out the very best view you have to offer.

I can still hear the clackety noises you make.

But..
...I also remember standing in the cold and seeing you off in the distance ...or not at all
...and your creeping across the bridge making the air seem colder.

I am fine. It's working for me out here.

I hope you are doing well.

Snail Mail

As previously predicted, the cooler weather and earlier darkness is keeping me inside more. And, when I don't get super sucked into an NCIS marathon I end up being creative! Here is something that Dingo and I drove to the post office yesterday! Destination: Fayetteville, Arkansas.

On a side note, this is an Autumn photo from Central Park!

Circus!

Last night we went to the circus, and while I sipped on my 7$ beer, I was reintroduced to death defying acts, exotic contortionists and glitzy, sparkly, sequined outfits ...occasionally adorned with living creatures!

It's the animals that I love to see! I love the elephants, in their fancy sparkly head gear, and the tigers ..oh my! I love how they walk so slow and bat at the handler, like it's all just a little bit not worth their time, but they are doing it because they have nothing else on their agenda. The handler always seems just a little nervous, I like that too.

I sat next to my friend Denise ...who was very worried about the motorcycle ball riding stunt. She even screamed, which was really funny. She may be the only person that I have ever seen actually fan her face in public, in fright. Sooooo cute!

So B&B circus, a wonderful night. I look forward to the next one!

Office View

It rained today, and I got to take advantage of the very large window in my office. As you can see, there is an inside-outside feel to my desk, which makes sense if you know me! I love it, the rain felt like it was coming right into the office! Here is my view...

Letters

Since the weather has been getting cooler, I have been writing more. And, it seems that there is a good deal of inspiration going around lately! It's not just me, I have been seeing a surge of it in all of my creative friends.

Here is one item that I will soon be putting in the mail, and as real mail travels, it will make it's way from Utah to New Jersey!

Autumn in Utah

Since my home computer has a virus it has been next to impossible, right now, to come up with any of my wonderful autumn images of NY. I did, however, take a lovely shot from the top of Parley's Canyon this last weekend and I would like to share that in the mean time.

Enjoy!

Autumn in the city

Ok, ok ..it's crazy, (I know) but I kind of miss NY right now. Don't get me wrong, I still remember the mile long list of complaints that caused my departure, but...

...it's the chill in the air and occasional stillness. It's Central Park changing colors with everyone wandering around in their newly layered outfits. It's the magic that a single scarf can bring, the sidewalk coffee and accompanying, edible steam. It's the cripsness as people are slowing down, savoring the last bit of golden light.

It really is a magical time to be in the city.

I don't have an image available for this post (right this minute) and I will get one soon, but as for now you can click here and see the photos I have already uploaded of a previous Central Park Fall.

More images coming soon...

A few from around the office!

I would really like to be sharing with you the fun designs that I do for Little Adventures. And at some point ...once the creations are out in the market and being sold, I will!
..I will share, share, share.
But, for now, I will post a few fun photos from the studio.

This bear tries on our doll dresses ...he's resting now.

Our hat model, Sally ..also resting.

An silly bit of inspiration for the team.

I'm not sure that you can work in a creative environment without some random silliness around you.

Birds on wires

This shot was captured on my way home Friday at the end of my work street. Just after I took it, a semi came by and scared them all away. This is also a good example of how wonderful my new computer plays with colors!!

Canning for beginners

It's peach season in Utah right now, and to celebrate the juicy harvest we decided to spend our Sunday canning!

According to my mom, I helped her with canning a lot as a small child. I don't have memory of this, unfortunately, so today is my maiden, self-motivated canning experience ..that I hope to remember in the future.

The peaches?
Not so much jam as I had anticipated, but more of a lovely, slimy ice cream topping!

...I'll try again soon!

Weekend outtakes

Following in the footsteps of my sister's blog I have chosen to post a few of the not-so-blog-friendly photos from the weekend, hehehe....

Ebaby2 Part2: Rodeo!

There are rodeos all over the west, and they are all full of similar characters and exciting events; we love them. That being said, the one that really has a place in my heart is the Evanston Rodeo during Cowboy days. Maybe it's the red, white and blue bleachers that have stayed the same for as long as I can remember. Maybe it's the view of red mountain and the large, clear sky. Maybe it's the people, the ones that I have known since I was little, or don't know at all ...but know they are from Evanston. Whatever it is, it's my favorite, and this year E-baby was there introducing baby Mike to it!

Not so sure about all the rodeo noise...

Representing ...and chatting with grandpa!

Seeeeesterr ...and my apparent many, many chins.

"Maybe he wants some beer?"

First funnel cake!

Ebaby2 Part I: Hangin' out

Here are a few early photos from this weekend; the morning after my sister and nephew arrived.

Checking out the swing ...and the number 8.

Eatin' avocados!

Lucky us!

My sister and nephew flew out for a visit over this last weekend! It was wonderful. Mike is getting big ...really fast, although I hear that is what babies do. He crawls, sits up, smooshes food into his mouth, grows teeth, smiles, shakes, wiggles, flirts and genuinely squirms into everyones heart! We love him, we miss him and we cannot wait to see what he learns next.

Oh, and it was nice to see you too, Erin.

xoxoxo...

Update!

Sorry to leave you hanging about my dad, we found out yesterday that his condition was in fact caused by the horse incident and that he is well on his way to healing himself! Yay ...go dad!

We are super glad that you are ok!
