Summertime!

I love it!

I love this summertime season!

In the past I have picked spring or fall as my favorite season, depending on which one was happening at the time, but since moving back to the beehive state I have fallen for summer. Summer, summer, summer. I'm so excited and enthusiastic about it that I can hardly contain myself. Almost every weekend through the end of it is booked and I am happily awaiting each thing planned :)

I sound so sappy, please bare with me. (bear with me?) I went to my first baseball game last night! How great, I'm already looking forward to the next one. And although I lost my bracelet ..and although I (ironically) didn't take any photos! I did get to take home these wonderful flowers later that evening that my good friend had cut for me from his yard.

Tasty Thai!

My mom drove down for a visit this last weekend and after saying we were not going to run all over the city, we did just that. We both became grumpy bears around the same time and were saved by this wonderful little thai restaurant across from Pioneer Park. It was a lovely day and I look forward to going hiking with her this weekend!

Driving through Colorado!

I just returned from a 5 day trip through Colorado, my good friend Amanda and I did 4 mountain passes, 8 gondolas, 1 day of Telluride Bluegrass, 1 day of camping off of Monarch pass and 4 games of volleyball!

Mike's Visit: Photo Tour 2 ..the park!

Here is the second installment of my wonderful nephew photos! My father had a work day at the Bear River Park, and we all met up for good food and company. They are designating trails for biking all over the area, and the work day was to put the trail map sign up and fill in some of the washed out areas of the trail. I managed to fall in the river ...well, jumped in, thinking that I could make it across and everyone got a little sunburned.

Mike's Visit: Photo Tour 1

I am planning on dealing out these adorable photos in stages so that the posts don't get too long. Don't know what it is about my adorable baby nephew, but I just cannot stop taking photos of him!

Here is the first part of the visit with all of us together! Ryan and his mom, Kathy, even made it out to the house in Wyoming.

This is how we roll..

Fun at the Fort!

I was only able to spend about 3 hours in Fort Collins this last weekend, but it was well worth it. I saw some good friends, bought a new helmet and (of course) drank some really good beer!

PTC ..in 3D ..in CO!

This weekend my mom and I drove over to Denver to pick up my nephew ..who flew in (with my sis and brother-in-law) to visit his new cousin! Congrats, Erica and Derrick, baby Emily is adorable!! It was a whirlwind of a weekend complete with a tiny trip up to Fort Collins to visit some friends and buy good beer, and in the middle of it we went out for a mother/daughter 3D movie!!

The image is a funny one, with us looking slightly scary and some dudes butt in the background ..but I think it fully portrays the fun we were having and how dorky we looked in the dark!

I'm not a movie critic, and I tend to be entertained by most movies, but I really liked this one ..as I have really liked all of the Pirates movies!! Good, pirate fun!

Best quote .."Your sword smells funny."

Outgoing: Germany

I love this letter.

I love that it's going to Germany.
..and that the person receiving it is very well spoken (written).
I love the vintage photo on the front.
..and that I had to watercolor it to get it that beautiful color.
I love that they are kissing
..or very, very near kissing.
I love the paint pen.
and I love that it is orange.

Greetings from Japan!

This beautiful postcard arrived from Japan about a week ago, through postcrossing! The site is a network of postcard exchange that works on a "you send one, you get one" system. Since starting the site 3 months ago I have sent 19 and received 18. This may sound like a low number, but when you factor in international travel time, it actually seems fast. My postcards have come from 16 different countries including Latvia, Belarus and Lithuania. Travel time has been anywhere from 6 to 44 days! ..crazy.

My next postcard, just requested today is being sent to Nataleon in Russia, who likes to embroider, swim in the river and do water aerobics. She is an economist!

Happy mailing to you all, I hope this post inspires you to get out your old pen and paper and write something wonderful to send to someone you care about ...or maybe even someone new, in another country, that you've never even met :)

Melt-off

It's that time of year again ..and all that wonderful snow that we received this winter is melting down off the mountains and causing the creeks and rivers to spill their banks. These shots are from the western side of Logan last week when I visited. I think they have been hit the hardest in the state so far.

More problems with auto correct?

I cannot, cannot, cannot get enough of this site! It makes me laugh uncontrollably ..even at work, even in front of people that I don't know. I have been saving this gem for a little while because I found it while on hiatus.
